The Hotel San Jose originated in 1939 as a motor inn, and has returned to its roots in a retro chic kind of way. Choose from suites or standard rooms that each display a funky mix of ‘60s cool and modern utility. From the batik-print pillows on the white modular sofa to the swing-arm lamps by the bedside, you’ll know you aren’t in Kansas anymore. Rooms are light and bright, decorated in white with sparing shots of primary color. Red desk chairs or blankets across the foot of the bed mesh surprisingly well with kitschy items such as faux cowhide rugs.
