The Continental Club has been rocking Austin since 1957. It went through a burlesque phase in the ‘60s; welcomed acts as varied as Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Butthole Surfers and Leroy Parnell in the ‘70s; underwent a makeover in the ‘80s that returned it to its ‘50s look; and is still going strong today. If you’re coming to town to catch a show here, book yourself into the Hotel San Jose across the street; the band’s probably staying there, and you’ll dig the vibe.
