"OK, it’s probably the only Polynesian Tex-Mex on the lake, or in town for that matter, but the food is great, the deck that protrudes out over the water is comfortable, and the staff is friendly. When my wife and I lived on Lake Austin we’d take the boat to Hula Hut at least once a week for dinner. Our favorite dishes are the fish tacos (trust me) and the Hawaiian shrimp fajitas (you didn’t believe me about the Polynesian Tex-Mex, did you?). Keep in mind, however, that the portions are enormous-each entree is easily enough for two people. As an added bonus, Hula Hut is next door to Mozart’s, one of Austin’s best coffee houses. So after you’ve finished your Dim-Tapa-Pupu-Jitos, you can grab an after-dinner espresso."
