"What’s a fresh seafood market doing in a semi-industrial part of town near the intersection of two big highways? I don’t know, but I’m sure it has something to do with the fact the seafood market was there first. Quality Seafood has been in Austin forever.
Half of the place is a no-frills cafe, the other half a traditional fish market. I recently stopped by for a shrimp po’ boy and also bought a pound of fresh, uncooked shrimp to take home. Both were cheap and excellent.
If you’re looking for ambiance, you should probably keep looking. But if you just want some good fish and don’t mind traveling off the beaten path, you’re in luck. And you get the added benefit of experiencing a little bit of Austin history."
