The conspiracy-obsessed in Dallas may prefer the nearby Conspiracy Museum, but if you’re looking for credible information on that fateful November day when John F. Kennedy was shot back in 1963, head to the Sixth Floor Museum, the oh-so-obviously titled museum located on the sixth floor of the Dallas County Administration Building. You think you already know everything that this museum could tell you? Well, that may be true, but the newspaper clippings, news footage, dramatic films, and (supposed) evidence — not to mention the chilling Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs — make the museum a worthy stop in the Big D. Images of a shocked Jackie Kennedy looking on as Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in and a young JFK Jr. saluting his father at the funeral are even more moving than usual when standing inside this famed building. And even if you are like the majority of Americans who believe that there’s more to the story than what you’ll find inside the Sixth Floor Museum, looking out onto Dealey Plaza and picturing the handsome, smiling couple cruising down the street just before American history was forever changed is bound to give you some goose bumps.
