Raise your right hand, women, and get ready to embrace some sisterly love. The Women’s Museum in Dallas — a Smithsonian affiliate — is a look at female influence in American history and culture. Inside the Art Deco building, you’ll stare up at the Electronic Quilt — the museum’s signature piece and a puzzle of 35 illuminated images, quotes, colors, and videos gathered from all of the other permanent exhibits. You’ll be inspired and full of pride as you read the Wall of Words — thoughts, advice, and words of wisdom from women throughout the museum, written above the Bank of America Grand Stairway. Unforgettable Women highlights 39 fabulous females who paved the way for independent women everywhere. And the Time Capsule illustrates what objects women valued in 1900 and in 2000. Not surprisingly, clothing, music, and art were just as important to stylish turn-of-the-century women as they are now. After all, a girl’s gotta have hot shoes when she’s fighting for her rights.
