In the city that hosts the Rodeo Uncorked! wine competition, you can bet on a long and diverse list of sights and entertainment. Between the NASA Space Center, Hermann Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the many performing arts organizations, Houston has almost anything you could want. The only problem will be choosing what to do first.
The Johnson Space Center is home to spacecrafts including the Mercury, Gemini and the Apollo capsules, and the NASA center provides you with a glimpse into the life of an astronaut. Once you’ve come back to Earth, stop by one of the greatest private art museums in the United States to see some truly exquisite work – the Museum of Fine Arts. In particular, the Menil Collection is a must-see. Houston also has top-notch opera, ballet, symphony and theater organizations that will provide you with an evening to remember. You’ll also want to spend a day at Hermann Park. Dedicated in 1914, Hermann Park has been a source of recreation for the city ever since. In recent years, the park has gone through several beautification and development projects, and you’ll find college kids, families with youngsters, and grandparents here, fishing, biking, pedal boating, skating, running and picnicking.
