San Francisco

Chocolate

Did you know that San Francisco and the Bay Area is the chocolate mecca of all ... Four of the nation's 11 major chocolate manufacturers and a bunch of boutique chocolatiers are located south of San Francisco, and crosses the bay, ending in Berkeley. To get started go to Ghirardelli, then move on to Scharfenberger, Joseph Schmidt, Guittard, Recchiuti Confections in the Ferry Building. And there are a ton of other notable chocolate places, if you are a true chocoholic. And if you dare to continue your chocolate tour of the Bay Area and Beyond, the wine country of Napa and Sonoma, Sebastopol, Bodega Bay, Half Moon Bay and Monterey are teeming with chocolate, too. I am writing a chocolate travel guide that will tell you where they all are. http://celiasue.wordpress.com and http://celiasue.hecht.googlepages.com/itravelforchocolate ... I have not yet posted a travelogue on California, I did one on Ashland, Oregon... a surprising chocolate find..

In the meanwhile, do a google or yahoo search and find what you can... there are plenty of treats to be found.
