History Comes Alive in Istanbul
"My mother and I visited Istanbul, Turkey in 2006. At the time, there had been some bombings in a seaside town which was nowhere near where we were going. The first city we visited in Turkey was Istanbul. This city is not only a look back in time, but a freezing of time with the magnificent mosques and churches, the Spice Market and the Bazaar.

NEVER STAY at Sultanahmet Suites
"Sultanahmet Suites in Istanbul, Turkey, was the WORST "hotel" experience in my life. This apartment (I would not call this place a hotel), which is not in Sultanahmet, is far away from tourist attractions and is very low value for money and very low quality. It has absolutely no service or facility other than the room itself, so it probably does not deserve even one star. A very bad place. But the most catastrophic tragedy of Sultanahmet Suites is the owner, who is actually (and amazingly) the one and only staff at this apartment. He has no training, skills, and courtesy required for hotel management. And, more seriously, he can be extremely rude and hostile. He yelled at us, and insulted us with offensive words, "PAY or go to the POLICE!", "You don't deserve to be treated well", "He (My boyfriend) is not my guest!"... (Can you believe that the owner said this after my BF stayed at Sultanahmet Suites for 6 days!?)….. and the owner even broke his promise. "I changed my mind. Now you must pay if you want a late check out!"When I posted a review about his obnoxious personality back home, he immediately called at 1 a.m. midnight, and threatened to delete it. "I tell you something. I will go to your embassy. I have all the copies of your e-mails and everything. You only have 48 hours to clean up what you have written about me to tripadvisor. So you either do that, or I will be a trouble for you." When I ignored this threat of the owner of Sultanahmet Suites, which is still kept in my voice mail, the owner’s wife sent me a threatening e-mail. Then they posted our privacy information on the internet. Well, I do encourage you to visit beautiful Turkey and Istanbul, but never waste your money at this dreadful place, unless you want to be harassed and your privacy exposed on the internet.
