Located at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, the Macdonald Aviemore Highl and Resort is part of a large resort situated amidst Caledonian pine forest and green fields. For kids there is an outdoor adventure playground, and an e zone located in the neighbouring Academy Hotel, which has a number of virtual reality and arcade games machines. There is also a kids’ club which is operational during the holiday season and includes a varied programme of activities displayed on the hotel noticeboards. The Cairngorms mountain range offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits for adventurous guests, including skiing, climbing, mountain biking, and off roading. Guests can also go fishing on the River Spey, one mile away, while the Highland Wildlife Park is eight miles from the hotel. Inverness Airport is 42 miles away with an approximate driving time of 40 minutes.
