Glasgow is a modern and vibrant city that sits on the River Clyde in southwest Scotland. Glasgow is home to award-winning architecture, including some beautiful Victorian buildings along with Gothic and modern masterpieces, including the futuristic Clyde Auditorium and the glorious Glasgow Cathedral. There is also a great deal of green space in this city of more than a half million, with Glasgow Green being the city’s oldest and best-known park. The city has a great collection of museums, most of which are free, and it also has a strong local music and art scene. Glasgow’s Buchanan Street is home to some of the city’s best upscale shopping. Also worth a visit are Glasgow University and the adjoining Klevingrove Park. Like most major cities, Glasgow has it rough areas, but in general, you’ll find the city and its inhabitants to be warm and welcoming.
