"One of my favorites ways to start a London day is to wake up in the lovely Milestone Hotel, with the sun streaming in through lace curtains and views of Kensington Palace looming regally in the distance. When I arrived, they offered me a peek at several rooms, and for once, I’m happy to report, there is truth in advertising: Most of their rooms are indeed individually decorated, with a fireplace and striped sheets in one, and frilly comforters and fresh flowers in another. I went for the feminine décor – the better to feel pampered. As much as I love lolling about inside the hotel, I always head for a morning stroll at the nearby leafy Kensington and Hyde parks."
