The Science Museums seven floors offer opportunities to explore the history of technology as well as to glimpse the future. Setting off from Launchpad, where you can get to grips with the laws of science, you can move on to a vast array of interactive galleries which demand audience participation – whether it be of the hands-on or brain-stimulating kind. From medical history to nuclear physics, its all covered. Challenging the perception amongst many children that science is boring, the multitude of things to press, touch, watch and think about make this museum a firm favourite with the kids. Check out the new Wellcome Wing for state-of-the-art displays on the most up-to-date scientific projects. Its special features include morphing machines to show you how youll look in thirty years time and antenna, an ever-changing exhibit of whats new in the science world. This wing also offers a more adult perspective on many of sciences current ethical dilemmas. Another popular attraction is the IMAX cinema showing 2D and 3D films, but it does mean an additional cost. Please call before visiting, as event schedules are subject to change.

Fun and educational!

"This is a great science museum. It’s huge, with seven floors, and free! There are tons of children roaming around, so you have to be quick to get a chance with some of the interactive displays! But there are a lot of them! This is a really hands-on museum, and it covers pretty much EVERYTHING in science! You need to have some time to see everything. There’s an IMAX theater, too, which is cool, but costs extra. There’s so much to see for free here, that you don’t need to worry about spending money, though! The gift shop is quite big and full of fun scientific toys. I wanted to bring home half of them! It’s right near the Natural History museum and the V&A, so you can have a museum day in London!"
