Location. Opened in 2004 on the site of former Free Trade Hall, the listed 19th century Italianate facade belies the contemporary interior of the Radisson Edwardian Manchester, which is located in the city centre opposite the G MEX. The nearest airport is Manchester International, 7.5 miles away.
Hotel Features. The large glass atrium is the central focus of the hotel and free wireless Internet access is available throughout the building. There are 18 meeting rooms; the largest room is housed within the original part of the Free Trade Hall.

Modern British cuisine is served for lunch and dinner in the lively restaurant, which is decorated with black lacquered wood, crocodile skin chairs, and red chandeliers; at night guests and locals sip cocktails until late at the bar.

Free to use for guests, the Sienna spa and health club comprises a 12 metre indoor pool, gym, spa tub, steam room and sauna, and locker rooms with showers, Molton Brown toiletries and hair dryers. Located with the historic barrel vaults, the five spa treatment rooms are a sanctuary of calm with scented candles and soft lighting.

Guestrooms. The 14 storey Radisson Edwardian has 263 air conditioned guestrooms decorated in a contemporary style with furnishings in dark wood, glass and leather, and floor to ceiling windows. Modern photographic prints of Manchester adorn the walls, and Scandinavian slate bathrooms have separate wet rooms and dressing areas. All rooms have Bang & Olufsen televisions with satellite channels and in house entertainment systems for music, pay Internet and pay movies, and free wireless and wired high speed Internet access.

Expert Tip. One block from the hotel, the Bridgewater Hall is a dramatic glass, steel and concrete structure, built to replace the Free Trade Hall. Manchester’s renowned symphony orchestra, The HallĂ©, resides here.

Don't trust them with your car

PeterBristol's rating:

"Room, food, bar, front desk service all good. Visit ruined by their car valet parking service: when my previously immaculate car was returned to me it had numerous deep scratches in the paintwork. The heater, radio and seat positions had been changed and I’m sure it had been abused. Although they have eventually paid for a repair job, my car is no longer immaculate and they have never even said sorry."
