Reptile Gardens
A scaly gem for families (& natural science buffs & snake lovers &...)
Don't let the many historic sites of South Dakota make you overlook the Reptile Gardens. We planned a stop there as a "kid spot" between sites in South Dakota. Next time it will be the focus of the trip for the whole family! The grounds are gorgeous and the variety of activities and animals is surprising. From the live snake and alligator shows to the biodome where a python may be snoozing over your head to being able to pop up in a gopher town or wander through a live bug collection, Reptile Gardens is a truly unique spot. A cafeteria and gift shop are on the premises with a range of choices from funny to educational, or pop next door for a genuine chuck wagon dinner & country concert at the Flying T - they guarantees you'll be finished in time to get to the lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore. A must-see spot (especially if you have boys or love natural science!)Reviewed on: June 27, 2008
