"When a friend of mine from Boston said that this was the best place to get brunch in DC and it rivals my favorite place in Boston… I knew I had to try it. So, one weekend, I grabbed some friends and headed over. Parking can be difficult and the place looks a little stuffy from the outside, but don’t be fooled. the inside is nothing like the heavy velvet curtains that you see coming in. I’m so glad that we didn’t turn around. I had ricotta pancakes with a banana walnut burboun syrup (fantastic! light, moist, and not overpowering) and my fiance had a southwestern hash (also very good). the grits were really smooth and cheesy, the bacon had good maple cured flavor, and the bread they give you at the table was quite good, too. I didn’t get to taste anything else at the table but, all votes said that we were coming back. This is not near a metro station but, it may be worth getting a subscription to zipcar just to go here."
