Experience the 'new' Jamestown

Reviewed by DianeScraps on August 21, 2007

DianeScraps' rating:

"For the 400th anniversary Jamestown has been totally rejuvenated. A large museum with cafe and gift shops has been built. The museum does a great job preparing you for the tour of the grounds. Also offers a 24 minute movie. Guided tours leave every half hour, or you can choose to self guide. The site includes an reproduction indian village, including interactive corn grinding, hide processing, and canoe making. Also a fort that includes reproduction buildings of warehouse, church, weapons storage, houses, gardens. And then there are several 'tall ships' on display that can be boarded and explored.Allow at least 4 1/2 hours. New pathways do allow most of the site to be accessed by handicapped persons or strollers."
