A Wickedly Fun Theme Park!

"I had always heard people talk about Busch Gardens and about the Williamsburg, VA area, and I finally got a chance to go visit for myself. The park itself was very interesting, and I liked the layout and the style of it. It was organized into "countries" and it was somewhat of a learning experience and a chance to try things from different places. The roller coasters were amazing, and one of the biggest reasons I wanted to visit Busch Gardens to begin with. Apollos Chariot was so much fun, and has some of the biggest hills on a rollercoaster that I know of! The Big Bad Wolf is also a ride that must be ridden! There was not a bad coaster out of the bunch, even though sadly one was closed while I was visiting! I was very fortunate to visit during the Halloween season, and the park was decorated beautifully! Definitely go near Halloween if you ever get the chance!"

"Once you enter the main gate, you feel like you’re in an amusement park in Europe. Park is organized into “countries,” with entertainment and food to match each. For example, I felt like I was at Oktoberfest at lunch. Coasters are pretty good. I’m also a fan of the over-the-water upside down coaster. Real thrill."

An amusement park with a European theme

"If you like coasters this is the place to go. The Lochness coaster looks like it would be the best, but the one that I liked the most was Apollo’s Chariot. The park also has tamer rides like bumper cars, merry go round, a train, etc. More of the rides are incorporating 3D movies. Although they insist that they are 4D since getting sprayed with water counts as another dimension. Those rides were surprisingly enjoyable. They did a good job on the effects. Just be sure to keep your eyes focused on the center of the screen. Looking to the sides sort of ruins the effects. The newest one is Dark Kastle. I heard it was really good, but couldn’t go on it since the line was so long. There are two water rides in the park. I went on the Escape from Pompei ride. The funny thing is that some people got soaked waiting in line. Sometimes even more than the people on the ride. Going through the interior of the Pompei ride lasts all of 30 seconds. Some of the fire effects are well done, and of course there are columns that almost hit you on the head. But I was expecting it to be bigger and longer. The final drop into the water is good. A big splash will depend on the weight distribution in the boat. The park itself has been designed as a mini Europe. If you are a photo nut this is the place for you. If you know what you are doing you can take pictures in such a way to make it look like you went to Europe. The park offers some European specific activities. Staple foods are sold in each country. You can assist or watch an artist (that was imported from Italy) make porcelin flowers. The only two cons at the park are a lack of places to find air conditioning and no fast pass system to avoid waiting on long lines. Glad I stopped

"On my vacation to Washington DC I made a stop at Busch gardens with friends. It was a lot of fun. The rides were great. I especially like the one that went over the water upside-down. It is so close to the water that with my hair hangingdown, it got wet! Great stop for a great time."
