Anacortes, WA Summary

Located on Skagit County’s Fidalgo Island in Puget Sound, southwest of Bellingham, Anacortes (population 13,900) is an important port for shipping, and for ferries that shuttle among the sound’s picturesque archipelago, the San Juan Islands, and Canada’s Vancouver Island. Anacortes offers boating facilities as well as saltwater and freshwater fishing. It can be reached by State Route 20, west from I-5.
