Stepping out from your taxi, you see the stately early 20th-century blond brick and impressively detailed cornices. But from the minute you step inside, you leave the 1920s behind and step into pure contemporary style. Golden stone tiles grace the lobby area, and rich contemporary parquet walls rise behind the reception area. Soft, subdued caramels soften eggplant-stained hardwoods. In the guest rooms, coffee-colored leather club chairs sit below chocolate brown ceiling fans. Soft browns and blues work together to create an ambiance that is restful and not at all fussy.
