Czech Republic

Cesky-Krumlov (UNESCO protected village)

This is a town south of Budvar (home of the originial Budweiser), which is turn south of Praha (Prague). It was awesome there. This village is the actual setting of Quentin Tarantino’s movie “Hostel”. Awesome place to visit. I was living in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany at the time and it is approximately a 3-4 hour drive from there, as you have to drive through Austria to get there. Once you cross the Austrian/Czech border, you can see the Cold War concrete pill boxes in the woods along the way. That was pretty cool. Once, while we were driving there, it was really cool, as all the villages in Bavaria, Austria and Czech were meeting in the farm fields at a huge bonfire and were partying like crazy, and we were wondering what the heck it was that was going on. A holiday or something? Then we realized that it was the summer solstice (June 20th or 21st) and all these people were doing their traditional thing that they have been doing for centuries, since they were pagans. Anyways, it was crazy when I was watching “Hostel” and I saw Cesky-Krumlov. I had climbed the hill in the distance to the white church that sits by itself atop that hill. The torture museum is actually in the same city. They have the Rosenburg castle there as well. When I was there, I stayed at a hostel, and it was fun meeting all the girls there. The clubs there are crazy as well. Fantastisch! I have pictures of there, and I have not had the chance to upload them yet, but I shall. If you have any question on where to stay, just drop me a line!
